Cannot afford Telephone Service? Link-up and Lifeline programs can help. These programs are available in all services areas except Dickinson and Belfield service areas.
Link Up - Assists with hook up charges for primary telephone service. Contact Consolidated to find out if you qualify for service without a deposit.
Lifeline - Lifeline assistance may be available for low-income qualifying consumers saving you at least $8.25 on your monthly phone bill for local telephone or cellular service. This applies only to basic local telephone or cellular service in the home where you live and does not apply to Dickisnon or Belfield telephone customers.
Who is Eligible? Residents whose income is equal to or less then 135% of the federal poverty guidelines or anyone participating in one of the following: TANF, Food Stamps, Energy Assistance, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Public House Assistance, National School Free Lunch Program
If you live on Tribal Lands: Lifeline provides basic local telephone or cellular service for $1.00 a month (plus mandated charges and taxes).
How to Obtain the Telephone Service: You may self certify at your local telephone or cellular office that you meet at least one of the eligibility requirements. When you qualify for any programs administered through the county social services office, you may ask for a Qualifying Certificate.
OR When you qualify for any programs administered by tribal offices, the tribal program administrator can provide verification of eligibility to the telephone company.
